Woah nelly. Here is a clash of the titans.
A teen style singing duo covering Marina and the Diamonds?! Well I never.
Actually, I kindof like it. After Pomplamoose, Ive become quite keen of covers of songs that change the genre, so go on, have a gander.
It took ages for me to load but whatever, maybe you will do better.

This is Robyn’s track Fembot.

Its from Body Talk 1, the first in three albums she is releasing this year. Body Talk 2 is out already and the third one comes out in december.
I’m not going to lie, I dont think I’ve ever likes electro music as much as I like this.

Mark Ronson’s new album Record Collection was released on the 27th and I have to say, I’m very impressed! After the not-very-popular-but-in-my-opinion-still-good album of covers that was Version, Record Collection is an original, fresh mix of rap, hip hop, pop and instrumental magic. It features the talent on Boy George, Kyle from The View (not that shit tv show), MNDR, Q tip, Pill, Rose Elinor Dougall and more.

The video is for Bang Bang Bang, the first single from his album and one of the more mainstream hits

Vinyl: Also for a bit of advertising/advice

If you are interested in getting new, and some old, vinyl records there’s a website called CDWow ( www.cdwow.co.nz ) which a friend told me about.

They don’t have a massive selection but they have reasonably priced vinyl from most genre and free shipping to New Zealand! Woo!

Just thought I’d share this epic way to get good music with our two (?)  followers..which I think includes myself…

Janelle Monáe - Tightrope.

I just remembered the other day I saw this and thought I should put it here. I discovered it simply because someone, somewhere on some site believes that her album is in the top 5 of albums “you should be listening to right now” but I have yet to listen to it’s entirety.

That aside, I quite like her sound and definitely appreciate her hair!  She said she makes her music for the have nots and this song is about keeping a balance in life. “Every time you step outside you’re dealing with life and you’re trying to stay sane, for a lack of better words. Balance, to me, is the key; not getting too high, not getting too low,” She says.
